Moondial

Moondial by Helen Cresswell 

     I read Moondial written by Helen Cresswell in this week. The main charavter is a girl who can understand things which cannot be seen or heard by other people.

     The girl went to Bleton House in her summer vacation. And  she felt a cold wind and heard a thousand frightened voices, so she shut her eyes and put her hands over her ears. And then, opening her eyes, she was in different world.  After that, she repeated the incident and continue the adventure that she went to the path. She met Tom and Sarah in that world. And she and Tom saved Sarah from a woman who is the evil Miss Vole.

     This book is a little difficult for me because she go and back  in many times. And I don't understand how to she can go the different world.  But this story was interesting because I wanted to know the continuation of this story.

The Prisoner of Zenda

The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope

     This week, I read The Prisoner of Zenda written by Anthony Hope. This book is adventure story. This book is little longer than I had read last week, so I felt a little difficult. However, the story is interesting, because the content is detail. 

  

     I wrote down the content of this book. This story's main character man is similar to the King of Ruritania. They are same name "Rudolf". The man was involved in the accident about new King. He had to become the replacement of the King, because the King was a prisoner. In this book, he fall in love with the woman who loves the King. 

     The enemies of the King and the man were strong, and it's hard to fight them. After helping the King, the man had to leave the country. The man told the woman he is not the King. But after that, they send the letter each other. 

     This book has about adventure, fight, and love, so I enjoyed various stories in one story. If you are interested in this book, you should check this book!

Voodoo Island

Voodoo Island by Michael Duckworth

     

     I read Voodoo Island written by Michael Duckworth in this week. This book is horror story about voodoo. Voodoo is magical beliefs and practices used as a form of religion, especially by people in Haiti.

     In this story, Conway is going to build a lot of houses and a big hotel on graveyard. But one old man tried to stop to built them and he visited Conway. Conway want to build, at all, he did. The old man was shocked and angry. He started to put up curse. After that, Conway had strange dreams every day. And he changed to a mad man.

     This book was easy to read, so I felt the fear of voodoo. Voodoo look like a straw figure. The curse changed a man to a mad man. If I experienced it, I would feel more fright.
