The
Railway Children
I read The Railway Children written by Edith Nesbit. This
story is a drama about one family. The family has father, mother, and three
children.
They had lived in London and had everything
that they needed. One night, the father talked with the guest and the mother also
listened it. When the mother backed to children’s bed room, her face was white.
A few days later, the father went away and
the lest of family moved to the house near the railway. Their mother didn’t talk
about her husband and she promised not to ask about him with her children. She
looked unhappy. The house was cold and there is not much food. They spend there
without their father and sometimes the children forgot their father.
The children often visited near the railway
and shook hands toward the train. One day, one old gentleman shook hands toward
the children. This man is the key person in this story.
When children’s
mother was ill, the children made flag with the big letters, LOOK OUT AT THE STATION.
The man noticed and received a letter from the child. The letter was written
about her ill and what they need food. The man helped them.
When children find out the railway was covered
with big rock, they told the train to stop by using red flag. They thanked for saving
the train and many people. The old man gave each children watches because he
was in the railway company.
One of children was thinking about her father,
and found out the news that her father was suspected as a spy. Her mother said
her husband didn’t. The children wrote the letter for the gentle man to help
her father. The man promised with her.
One day, the girl went to the railway to
shack hands again. On the day, everyone shook hands toward her. She thought
stranger and visited the station. In the station, her father stood.
This story was happy and warm. The old gentle
man was very nice to children. I was glad after reading because their father came
back.
