Goodbye,
Mr Hollywood
I read Goodbye, Mr Hollywood written
by John Escott. This is mystery book. The main character, Nick, writes for
travel magazines. He visited a village in Canada, and he met mystery girl
there.
When he was sitting outside a café, one woman came and sat next to
him. She and he enjoyed talking, and she asked him to call him Mr. Hollywood.
He said “OK”. He called her mystery girl. Just then, a man with white hair came
into the café and sat at a table near them. The girl looked at the man, then
looked away again. Nick asked her “Do you know him?”, but she said “No”.
Suddenly, she said “I must go now.” and took Nick’s face between her hands and
kissed him. “Drive carefully, Mr. Hollywood. Goodbye,” she said and hurried
away. He didn’t understand why she kissed him.
He left the café, and the man with white hair followed him. Nick
didn’t notice, but he had dangerous happening after meeting the mystery girl.
One day, he found the man with white hair and remembered the place where the
mystery girl went. He visited there and met her again. He told about the man
following him. The man was sitting near them, and then he had a gun and pointed
at Nick. The shot went over his head. After that, the shot man went to the
polis station, and Nick and the mystery girl also did. And then, Nick learned
the answers to the questions. Why did she call Nick “Mr. Hollywood”? Why kissed
him when she left? Who is the man with white hair at the next table? Why did
the man shoot?
I’d like to read and find out the answers.
